12 hours of giving

About Event

Why are we doing this? This video explains it all:

Drug and alcohol addiction affects everyone in our communities, not just the person dealing with the addiction.

However, you have the power to make a change. It’s hanging in your closet right now.

Help 95.9 The River stock the shelves of our area’s Salvation Army thrift stores with the 12 Hours of Giving.  Stop by with your donation between 7a and 7p on Saturday, March 2.  95.9 The River personalities will be on site at the Downers Grove Salvation Army Thrift Store (1520 75th St.) to accept your donations.

The River Road Crew will also be making stops at the Montgomery and Glendale Heights thrift store locations.

Everyone who donates while The River is on-site won’t just walk away with a great feeling, they’ll also walk away with a pair of movie tickets to Hollywood Boulevard or Hollywood Palms movie theaters in Woodridge and Naperville.

Your donations help the Salvation Army raise money to operate The Adult Rehabilitation Center in Chicago.  This program is a faith-based, non-profit program that gives people the opportunity to gain insight into their drug and alcohol addictions, develop work skills, and go on to live a life free from addiction.  This program is supported solely from sales at our area’s thrift stores.
